I’m still working furiously to get rid of all unnecessary “stuff”. However, we succumbed and got the kitties a new blankie that came with a stuffed sheep. The pointy eared people like it. 🙂
And now, here’s some regrettably vertical video of an adorable husky puppy.
Well, another Caturday has rolled around and the pointy eared people have exhibited weirdness. Ok, they’re cats. Cats always exhibit weirdness. 🙂
Now here is a vid from my favorite animal shelter, Best Friends in Kanab, Utah.
I STILL don’t have the Alcatraz pics up. Today, that will be my mission. Instead of getting rid of stuff today, I’m going to finish sorting photos. In my defense, there are a LOT of photos. I’ll post our favorites and the rest will be put into a couple of slideshows. I’m hoping to have the post up by tomorrow evening at the latest.
Yes, it’s Caturday and I’m surprised I even have some pictures to post. Given the fact that we are reducing the amount of “stuff” in the apartment and getting rid of furniture too, it’s hard to get nice pics of the kitties. The bookcases are mostly empty with the books either donated or packed away. I have boxes everywhere. I’m making great headway though. 🙂 I’m going to add some sunrise pics to the mix today as I’m still working on the Alcatraz post.
Soooooooo, since it’s Caturday, here are the pointy eared people. Hopefully none of the these are repeats.
Now for a few sunrise pics. We went out to Aquatic Park and it turned out to be a rather nice morning. I used the Canon and got the vivid orange photos. Lastech used his phone and got the more delicate colors. As before, I really love both.
Yes, it’s Valentines Day. For us, it’s just Caturday. Lastech will go to work (12 hr shift) and I’ll thrash my way through the kitchen getting rid of more “stuff”. Oh, but we did well this week: we hauled a very large load to Goodwill and I’ll have another large load soon. The food processor and bread machine went away. I prefer to make my bread by hand anyway. 🙂
Tito is being his usual enthusiastic love bug while Jenny has been coming out of her shell a bit more. As to Titanescu, despite the rise in temperatures, he spends most of his nights with us, hugging a leg or an arm tightly. We’ve started to nickname him Cuddles. Out of earshot, naturally.
Next week, we will be heading across the Golden Gate to check out trailers, take an early morning trip to Alcatraz, and drive down to Mountain View’s Shoreline bird sanctuary.
Now it’s time for the pointy eared people. We may not be celebrating Valentine’s, but the furkids have some love in their eyes.
Our fur friend, Henry Hobson (left) and his littermate Chloe de Chanel (right) are celebrating their 7th birthday today. Henry gave us all a terrible scare last year when he managed to get out of the house. He was missing for days and days and was finally spotted wayyyyyyy up a tree. When he came down, his mom was finally able to coax him out of the bushes and take him home. He was a tad thin and skinned up from the tree, but otherwise he was ok. Now he spends his time indoors with his beloved toy, Mr. Snakels. Henry’s sister Chloe is a real beauty. Note to Henry’s mom: If you click on the photo, it will take you to the full size and you can copy it from there easily. Thank you for letting me play with their pics. 🙂
As for the pointy eared people, their pics have more of a Noir feel about them.
Now for something a bit absurd. Last July we wrote about the rare and elusive Golden Gate Bawk-Bawk in a post titled Cock up at the park. Given that there is a coyote den nearby, we didn’t think they would last long. We were wrong. In July there were two. Now there are four.
Sadly, I can’t read the word “shrubbery” with hearing the voice of the Knights who say Ni.
Final note: If you scroll down past this post, you will see some sunrise photos from earlier in the week.
Happy Caturday everyone! This has been an interesting week to say the least. It has flown by so fast that it was as blurry as our kitty pics.
Our lovely city managed to make the national headlines with the story of the torso in the suitcase discovery. Aside from the torso, they found a leg in a trash bin down the street. Where this was found was not in a quiet area. It’s a major bus hub. On a better note, I’m grateful for security cameras. They were able to release photos of a man with the suitcase. A couple of hours after that, he was arrested. Oddly enough, I was living in South Florida within a mile of where the suitcase killer was dropping bodies.
Now, on a much happier note, an extremely rare Sierra Nevada red fox has been photographed in Yosemite. I hope this is a good sign.
Now after all the odd news, it’s time for the pointy eared people. Yes, blurry is the word today. I always try to pick the best pics. Not today. This is what we get 98% of the time.
As for Lastech and I, we’re rapidly becoming fans of the Tiny House movement. This is a tour of the home we like. I would prefer a slightly different floor plan though. I also would not take up space with a washer/dryer. This is our dream home, which is subject to change. For now, we may have to settle for a travel trailer. Either way, we will wind up with a home that we can take with us when we want to move. 🙂
The kitties are nervous anyway and the other day it got worse. On Thursday, I got a call that we had a leak that was running into the nail salon downstairs. I told them to send the plumber and I located the source of the problem. It was under the sink in the wall. It wasn’t running out on my floor so I hadn’t noticed it. Anyhow, it involved a plumber and a torch. The kitties were nervous and I was was worse. The explosion and gas leak down the street in 2012 was caused by a plumber and a torch. I never found out whether or not the plumber survived. The huge fire in New Jersey this last week was caused by a plumber and a torch. Every 20 minutes I felt the wall where the repair was done to make sure it was cool. Yep, I was paranoid
As I’m here typing, it’s evident that all turned out well, but I wasn’t a happy camper. The pointy eared people recovered before I did. 🙂
Now it’s time for the pointy eared people to shine
This is why we will never have a door stopper. Titan and Jenny would do this.
The wind is blowing in from the interior and bringing smoggy skies with it. Blech! Thank goodness for my inhaler. In the meantime, we are without rain. This is on track to be the driest January in years. Stupid drought. No storms for us in the near future either. 🙁
Since it’s Caturday, it’s time for the pointy eared people to shine.
And now for something a bit funny. What is it with cats and hair?
This has been a rather awful week in the news. Planes and Journalists have not fared well. Our condolences to all. 🙁
In other news, the Golden Gate Bridge is closed until Monday morning. It’s sad for the tourists and a pain in the posterior for commuters, but it’s needed. They’re installing a moveable median barrier to separate the north and southbound lanes. The barrier is needed to prevent head on collisions. There have been many and with more and more people driving while using cell phones, it’s even more necessary. It’s the first closure in more than 25 years and the longest closure in bridge history.
Last week it was boxes. This week it’s blanket forts. If we’re on the bed watching tv or reading, soon will come a paw digging at the blankets. They don’t care if we’re in the middle of a heatwave. They want UNDER the blanket.
And now here’s a beautiful and sweet story about a boy and his dog. It’s a two-hanky story at the very least, but it will leave you smiling.
I hope everyone had a great holiday season. Before we get to the pointy eared people, we want to wish our friend Miyuki a very happy birthday. She has a great blog called Nekoneko’s Movie Litterbox where she reviews horror films from around the world. If you enjoy horror films, her blog is the best.
Now it’s time for the pointy eared people to shine. Earlier in December, I received a nice sized box. I haven’t the heart to take it away from them, so it remains. They play in it and shred it too. The “artsy” effect is what happens when I need pics and none are particularly good. Actually, the original pic of Titan was great. I just tweaked it to fit with the others. 🙂
Usually I try to post a funny cartoon or video. Not today. Today’s video is just beautiful and blue.
The lava isn’t blue, but the flames are blue because of the sulfer content
