Caturday: a fangtastic week

As everyone now knows, the Giants won the World Series. The Royals put up a good fight though, making this championship all the more enjoyable. Of course, as a result of the win, our city wound up in the news for the fires and other mayhem…sigh. It was only a few idiots, but the rest of the world has no way of knowing that it wasn’t the whole city. The pointy eared people didn’t appreciate any of it either, as the fireworks sent them into deep hiding. That was Wednesday.

Yesterday, Lastech woke up to move the car (for street cleaning) and discovered that some miscreants (pranksters?) had slashed two of our tires. Joy! Lucky for us, our favorite shop down the street got new tires put on and the guys didn’t even charge labor. I think they felt bad, so we dropped off apple strudels for them later. It was done in time so that I could watch the Parade of Champions on tv. While rain fell heavily, people were overjoyed, Willie Mays and Willie McCovey were both there and thrilled about it.

Anyhow, The fur people did ok except for the fireworks. They even managed to give me their best evil looks for the occasion. Ok, mostly evil.

  1. Years ago I had a black cat that would do the Halloween cat back arch on command with a chatter. All I had to do is make a swoosh sound and point my finger in dramatic fashion and he would do it. It started when he was a kitten…I pointed at him quickly and he did it once. So I repeated it periodically and he always delivered. He lived to the ripe old age of 15 before he crossed the rainbow bridge. Shorty’s antics remind me so much of him. We also played hide and seek which he interpreted as search and destroy. Good times. 🙂

  2. Oh, no. It sounds like you’ve been having the same sort of week I have. In addition to the treats, life has been throwing me some tricks as well. I posted a ton of pictures on my blog of the Halloween party I went to over the weekend.

I had to have my car serviced today (got a new battery). I am so glad that a dead battery isn’t going to keep me from going to vote tomorrow. 🙂

  3. Forgot to say that I love the pictures of your pointy-eared ones looking scary and spooky! Mabel knows how to do that same Freddy K imitation – and I have the nail prints in my leg to show it!

  4. Ooohhh!! So sorry the Halloween goblins decided to give you sucg a mean spirited “trick”…. We pretty much lucked out on that, even if Carolyn and I ended up spending the day at the apartment rather than enjoying the spooky festivities. Unfortunently poor Carolyn caught the flu a few days bavk and wasn’t feeling up to going anywhere.

Still… it let us hang out and hand out candy to the Trick-or-Treaters all evening and gave me an excuse to wear my old cosplay nekomimi ears for the kiddies, so it’s all good. 🙂
