He’s my little curmudgeon and I love him, but when he’s hungry he’s a total butthead. I sleep on my side and his favorite trick is to stand on my shoulder and slap my head with a paw. That’s followed by using my shoulder as springboard as he dives off the bed, runs around and comes back for another round. He started at 0400 hrs. He doesn’t get breakfast until 0530. I finally grabbed my squirt bottle and aimed it correctly and went back to sleep. I zapped him twice before he stopped.

Miss Jenny, while not quite a butthead, will egg Titanescu on. However yesterday, Lastech discovered her and Tito having a mutual love fest in the window.

This video isn’t new, but it’s certainly appropriate and a perfect description of Titanescu.

Titanescu would also do this if he could.

Well, I managed to remember what day it is. I mentioned a while back that we were trying out the Feliway plug-in to see if it helped Miss Jenny. It seemed to be helping a lot. Then we ran out. We didn’t have a refill on hand as we were merely testing it and didn’t want to spend too much in case it didn’t do the job. Holy moly! That was our proof that it worked. The minute it ran out, Miss Jenny went back to nervous Nellie mode. For her sake, we replaced it quickly. 🙂 We’ll be sure to keep it on hand.

In other news, Lastech and I went back to Angel Island yet again and this time we visited the Immigration Station museum AND managed to hike all the way around the rest of the island. Photos will be coming soon.

My apologies. Lastech was getting ready for work last night when we discovered that we had no hot water. UGH! I had to call the landlord today and then wait.  …and wait and wait. I’m afraid I just totally forgot what day it was. We now have hot water again, so all is well in the JBoD household.

It’s been an odd couple of weeks. The 19th was our tenth anniversary. Sadly, Lastech was feeling under the weather (understatement) so we put off any sort of celebrating. This week, he felt better so off we went. It turned out better than planned as we were between storms and the clouds were as spectacular as the rest of the scenery. I’m working on pics now, so Part I should be ready soon. Anyhow, due to graveyard shift and strenuous hiking, I slept through the day. My bad.

I’m sure I’ve mentioned that Miss Jenny is our nervous wreck kitty. Paranoia…she has it. We have learned that we will probably be forced to move sometime this year as the property owners want to add two more stories to our building. In preparation, we started going through everything and getting rid of stuff. We were only able to work for 20 minutes at a time as poor Miss Jenny would panic and go into hiding. It was disrupting her world and we felt awful about it.

We decided to get a Feliway diffuser and try it. According to the company:

Feliway is a synthetic copy of the feline facial pheromone, used by cats to mark their territory as safe and secure.

Wow! Miss Jenny is much more calm. Titanescu is a wee bit more lovey too. Tito is just wonderful sweet hearted Tito. He used to be nervous, but he’s much more calm with age.

Most of you are sick of winter and we’re about to set records for being warm. Blech! on both counts.

Yesterday, we ran out to get our grocery shopping done early and came home to find Titanescu licking the crap out of something in the window. He was really going to town on it. Since I have caught him licking the mini blinds (yes really), I wanted to put a stop to it. I calmly pulled back the curtain only to see Tito looking up at me with a soggy head. Titanescu looked quite irritated that I had interrupted his forceful grooming of Tito. I put the curtain back and Titanescu resumed his licking. Wow..!

When we sit on the bed to watch tv or read with the blankets up over our knees, the pointy eared people dive in. It’s their cat cave. If we’re not under the blanket, one of them will paw and claw at the blanket until we comply.

I don’t have a good photo of Titan in his cave. Being black makes it even harder to get good pics. However, I do have a pic of what I face every day. It starts an hour or more before feeding time. Normally, I’m at the computer desk and rather than staring, Titan comes and sits in front of me. He sits in front of me and alternates between nibbling on my arm and licking it. Nibble nibble lick lick. However, if I move my arm, he BITES it followed by the licky licks. He never breaks the skin. It’s just far less gentle than the nibbles. Miss Jenny sits on the floor, mews plaintively and jabs claws in my butt. I refuse to let them win. 🙂
