As many know, San Francisco and the Bay Area have been subjected to a series of storms. The North Bay appears to have gotten the worst of it. In spite of all that, mother nature has seen fit to give us some beautiful views in between those storms. The dogs were certainly enjoying it.
The Flying Wallendas got nothing on this dog
Ok, it’s a bit of exaggeration. The Flying Wallendas have been defying gravity for a century. Recently, Nik Wallenda became the first aerialist to walk across the Niagara Falls.
This pooch doesn’t walk across the Niagara Falls, but what he does is pretty impressive. According to his Facebook page, Ozbert Humpledink is a 3 yr old collie/kelpie cross. He was born in Wales. With the help of his human, he has learned some amazing tricks.
As you can see, Ozzy really loves to perform for his dad.
Now it’s time for the gratuitous cat pics.
We hope you have enjoyed this acrobatic interlude.
Teh Woozle
Known to most of us as Teh Woozle, this handsome beast is the companion of aoeu, a friend of JBoD. aoeu shared this photo the other day and I fell in love with it. I am using it with his permission.
Teh Woozle was rescued many moons ago on the No. California Coast. He was tired and hungry. He has been a loyal companion ever since. He is now living back East and is basking in his senior years. In his day, he was a very talented rat catcher. Those rats didn’t stand a chance. These days one of his favorite pastimes is snarfing up a piece of toast (buttered on both sides) after it has been dropped on the floor accidentally-on-purpose.
The Day Has Gone to the Dogs…er Dog
Jesse, the Jack Russell terrier has returned with more useful dog tricks. He’s amazing. Please visit his YouTube page for more of his videos.
It’s Monday and No Longer Raining Cats and Dogs
We had a few good storms and it rained cats and dogs. I think it rained a guinea pig or two as well. Monday is here and it’s the day before taxes are due. Yeah, sorry for the reminder. This Monday is a good example of the need to escape. I decided to help you escape with cats, dogs, and some good music.
Many of you will remember the Ultimate Dog Tease video by klaatu42 at YouTube. Well, here is the Ultimate Cat Tease by the same. If the screen goes wonky and sputters, it’s deliberate. Just wait. It’s worth it.
It’s time for the dogs. Here is OK Go with a wonderful song and video starring dogs and OK Go, of course.
Here is a LOL from Cheezburger cute enough to make your head ‘splode.
Manic Monday: Happy Endings Starring Dogs
Our kittehs don’t want you to think they are snobs when it comes to dogs. Today, they are presenting you with a couple of stories that have wonderful happy endings. We and the pointy eared people hope you enjoy them.
The first video is of a guy out kayaking. If kayaking and fishing are something you enjoy, please go see his Youtube page. This vid has no fish in it, as you will see.
While this story had a happy ending for Barney, it didn’t for his human. You can read about it here. It does more or less solve the mystery surrounding the vid.
This other video is just plain old cute and adorable. wiggly puppies are wonderful. bltmic’s Youtube page can be found here.
Wednesday Has Gone to the Dogs
Another Wednesday rolls around. It’s midweek and it’s all downhill from here to the weekend. I decided that although we usually post cat stuff, it’s time for the dogs to have their day. For your Wednesday entertainment, I present the doggie talent show.
Humpday Humor with Cats and Other Critters
Attention San Francisco Bay Area dog owners
The San Francisco SPCA, Crissy Field Dog Group, Fort Funston Dog Walkers, Marin Unleashed, Pacifica Dog, and SF PAWS have created a new website.
It’s called Eco-Dog.
According to the site:
The purpose of Eco-Dog is to protect our natural resources and preserve multiple recreational uses, including off- and on-leash recreation, in the San Francisco Bay Area.
They are providing information about where the off leash dog walking areas and trails are in San Francisco, Marin and San Mateo Counties. According to the site, this access is threatened in the Golden Gate National Recreation area. There is also a lot of information to help you protect the unique ecologies here while still enjoying the beaches, parks and trails with your dog. The resource library is excellent and provides links to various dog groups and has good maps of the dog walking areas.
I would advise any dog owner to visit the site. There is even a section for donations and volunteering.
Happy trails to all..!
