Terrific Tuesday: Grilling at Baker Beach

One of the wonderful things about living in San Francisco is going to Baker Beach to do some grilling. As there are only two of us, we try to keep it very simple. It was foggy that morning, but we didn’t mind. It was a weekday, so we guessed that the beach would be fairly quiet and peaceful. It was.

If you live in San Francisco and you want wonderful food, Seakor Polish Delicatessen is the place to go. It’s located on the Southeast corner of 24th and Geary. They make their own sausages. I simply cannot eat the mass-manufactured sausages from the grocer any more.

While at the deli, we picked up some mustard. We had been wanting to try it for a while. We were very glad that we did. WOW! It was strong enough to clear our sinuses, but it was so very good.

It turned out to be a very nice day. We even had a raven that kept us company throughout the meal. I’m sure it was hoping for a handout.

The sun never broke through the fog, but we still had peaceful and relaxing.

Disclaimer: This was NOT a paid advertisement nor have we received anything in trade. In fact, we didn’t tell the deli that we were going to write this. 🙂 We just love the food and wanted to share. 🙂

  1. Mmmmm!!! I just love sausages… My favorite has to be polish kielbasa with sautéed peppers and onions stuffed into a hogie roll with a wee splash of sirracha for added zip.

Darn it…. now I’m hungry!! Wonder if I can get some deli take-out right now at this time of night!! 🙂

    1. I got hungry just posting those pics. The deli makes their own sausage. The Hunter’s sausage has a very strong smoky smell. In fact, when we put our bag in the trunk, the aroma made its way to the front seat. Now I’m drooling again. We’re planning on another sausage raid on Friday, if we can. I may have to try it your way. If you can find that mustard, it’s worth it. 🙂
